Jocelyn W. Cowie
Founder & Wellness Innovator | RMT | Clinical Researcher | Medical Device Pioneer
For over forty years, Jocelyn W. Cowie has stood at the intersection of clinical touch therapy and scientific innovation—transforming the way the world understands, measures, and treats musculoskeletal pain.
Jocelyn is the founder of Sen-SORE™ and the creator of the PALM (Palpation, Acupressure, and Lymphatic Massage) methodology. A Registered Massage Therapist with decades of hands-on clinical experience, she has dedicated her life’s work to a singular mission: providing lasting, drug-free relief to the millions of people suffering from chronic pain, disability, and functional limitations.
Her pioneering work began at the Mountain Spa Institute in Grand Forks, British Columbia, where she developed and refined the PALM protocol over four decades of direct patient care. This hands-on foundation—treating thousands of individuals with conditions ranging from sports injuries and repetitive strain to age-related functional decline—became the scientific bedrock upon which Sen-SORE™ was built.

The PALM Methodology: A 40-Year Clinical Legacy
The PALM methodology is a proprietary, evidence-informed clinical framework that integrates three complementary disciplines into a unified treatment approach:
Palpation
The clinical art of locating inflammation, swelling, and dysfunction through precise, trained touch—identifying the physiological root cause of pain.
Acupressure
Applying targeted pressure to specific anatomical points to release tension, restore circulation, and stimulate the body’s natural healing response.
Lymphatic Massage
Gentle, rhythmic techniques that stimulate the lymphatic system to reduce swelling, clear metabolic waste, and accelerate soft tissue recovery.
Through the Mountain Spa Institute, Jocelyn has trained practitioners in the PALM methodology and continues to offer professional development retreats and workshops. The curriculum bridges traditional touch therapy with modern anatomical science, producing clinicians who are equipped to address the full spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions.
From Clinical Touch to Wearable Technology
Jocelyn’s most transformative contribution to pain management has been the translation of her clinical expertise into a scalable, accessible technology. Recognizing that the specialized skills of a trained PALM practitioner could not reach the millions of people who needed them, she conceived the Sen-SORE™ PAIN IQ platform—a wearable biosensor device that digitizes the assessment and treatment process.
In collaboration with Centennial College’s WIMTACH (Wearable, Interactive, Mobile Technology Applied Research in Community Health) program and supported by research funding from IRAP, Mitacs, and ICBC, Jocelyn led the development of a device that captures objective physiological data—temperature, galvanic skin response, and pain pressure thresholds—at the precise anatomical locations identified by PALM assessment.
“This work represents my life’s work in helping people with pain, disability, memory, concentration, and immune dysfunction. Sen-SORE is not just a device—it is forty years of clinical knowledge made accessible to everyone.”
